2020 Hyundai Palisade
The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is a front-runner in the midsize SUV class. It provides exceptional safety and a host of enticing tech features for comfort and convenience. While it lacks some of the acceleration power of its competitors, it makes up for it with a top-notch interior and overall reliability. Check out some of the 2020 Palisade's best features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2020 Palisade comes in three trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited. The base-level SE has an impressive number of standard features, including heated mirrors, keyless entry, and a host of safety components like lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking. The SEL adds to the features with a roof rack, remote start, and additional safety features like blind-spot monitoring. Finally, the top-of-the-line Limited model includes a dual sunroof, automatic windshield wipers, and safety features like a surround-view camera.
Engine (Power)
All trim levels of the 2020 Palisade have the same engine, a 3.8-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. While the standard configuration comes with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is optional on all trim levels. Manual shifting is available through mounted paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Performance
The large Palisade handles well for its size and design. While it's not the quickest accelerator, it can get from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. It handles more like a smaller, crossover SUV than a midsize, which is a plus for those who want a sportier driving experience. However, the transmission does struggle a bit to maintain speed and functionality when driving up steep hills. The Palisade comes pre-wired to pull a trailer, and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Interior
The interior of the 2020 Palisade, starting with the base SE trim, is exceptional. Hyundai's classic design choices create a soothing, functional, upscale cabin full of features to improve comfort and convenience on the road.
The Palisade seats seven or eight people, depending on the second-row layout, which comes with either a bench seat for three or captain's seats for two. Head and legroom are ample, even in the third row, which is easy to access with a simple one-button seat release. The cargo area falls in the middle of the pack compared to other midsize SUVs but should offer plenty of room, particularly when the third row is folded down.
The dash features an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the SE and SEL trims and a 10.3-inch touchscreen in Limited models. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity come standard on all trims levels. With seven USB ports and the ability to connect two devices at once via Bluetooth, the Palisade is well-designed to keep you connected and entertained on the road.
Safety Features
Safety features are abundant for the 2020 Palisade, beginning with the base trim. Standard safety features include lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, lane centering assist, back up camera, and rear occupant alert. The Limited trim provides additional safety features typically associated with luxury vehicles, like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, a head-up display, parking sensors, and a surround-view camera.
